Welcome
The
Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders was first established in 1969,
as the Department of Speech
Pathology and Audiology. From 1969 to the
present, the Department has developed and offered programs that reflect
growth, specialization, and commitment to helping professionals and
individuals with speech, language, and hearing
disorders. The
Department's programs are conducted so as to provide basic and advanced
professional preparation,
with a strong commitment to theoretical and
research foundations of clinical intervention. The Department offers a
master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and doctoral degrees in Audiology.
The
Clinical Doctoral program in Audiology (ScD) and Master of Arts (MA) program in
Speech-Language Pathology at the
Montclair State University are accredited by
the Council
on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language
Pathology, of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Mission
The
mission of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is to
prepare students to be audiologists
and speech-language pathologists who will
be successful practitioners in their disciplines and meet requirements for
certification and licensure.
Admissions
Applications
can be obtained from and are initially processed by the The Office of
Graduate Admissions & Support Services.
After your application is
complete the Office of Graduate Admissions & Support Services forwards it
to the department for
consideration for admission. The deadlines for
application are:
Audiology - February
15th
Speech-Language Pathology - March 1st
